Almas Valley, also known as the Apple Valley, lies 50 kilometres north from Cluj, in Zimbor. This region is renowned for its plum and apple orchards. This is where the locals make their "palinca" - twice distilled plum brandy, also known as the Transylvanian magic potion!

Just 35 km from Cluj lies a small town with an important history. It is Turda, also known by its Roman name, Potaissa. It used to be the capital of the Roman "Dacia Porolisensis" province and was fortified with a large castrum with imposing walls, towers and palisades.

About 150 km from Cluj lies one of the most well known cities of Transylvania: Sighisoara. A romantic medieval city, Sighisoara is also known as an ideal place for buying souvenirs and tasting traditional Transylvanian dishes.
