This city was often used in movie scene thanks to its positioning on the peak of a hill, to its old houses and churches, to its strong walls and high towers that surround the citadel. Sighisoara was founded by the German colonists (called Saxons) who came here between the 12th and the 15th century. It is a romantic medieval city with an upper town and a lower town. The gate has a clock with 15 statues, representing Roman gods.
Next to the gate lies a very famous house. It has the sign of the crusaders' order of "The Dragon". It is the house in which Vlad the Emperor was born, better known as Dracula. This is the perfect occasion for you to discover if the legend of Count Dracula is true!
On the peak of the hill lies the Saxon Church. It is the only one in Transylvania that has an open crypt which can be visited. Intriguing is also one of the inner paintings, which represents the Holy Trinity with the Holy Ghost as a woman.
